Getting Involved

PTF - Parent Teacher Fellowship

At LSCS parents really do make a difference. Throughout the year we have several special events hosted by the parents.  The PTF is also involved in Auction, Hallelujah Night, Rodeo Sunday, Homecoming, Kite Day, and many other events. We would like for all our parents to be involved in some way. For more information contact Viki Freeman, President.

Spirit Store

The Spirit Store is designed to encourage school spirit through the sale of spirit shirts and other spirit items. Our parents share the responsibility of setting up our store in the cafeteria during orientation, at sporting events and during other school functions.

Grandparents Day

Each November we honor our Grandparents as LSCS. Grandparents are invited to visit their grandchild’s classroom and share a special lunch with their grandchild at Victory Camp. PTF parents help with set-up and decorations while our wonderful school's food service team prepares the meal. Our LSCS children’s choir provides entertainment, and a ride on the Victory Camp Railroad is always a hit.

50th and 100th Day of School

On the 50th and 100th days of school our elementary school celebrates. Our parents help by providing entertainment, decorations, and special food treats.  On these days the children are encouraged to dress in costumes that go with the theme. Math games and concepts centered around 50’s and 100’s are the main subject of the day.

Book Fair

The annual book fair is set up and managed by our PTF. This is an opportunity for parents to view new books for their home libraries. They can order books for their home as well as for their child’s classroom. All books are delivered within a few weeks.

Teacher Luncheons

Several times throughout the year our parents provide special meals for our teachers and staff. These meals include In Service luncheons, the teachers’ Christmas party, and the end of year appreciation lunch.
